DV in the Arts, part. 13: SkyDxddy- Hate Me

WOW. Watch this video.  I am not kidding. I spent over an hour just learning about this artist after I heard this song. She has over 350,000 subscribers on YouTube and is definitely on a mission.

SkyDxddy is an independent American singer-songwriter whose emotionally honest music explores the realities of trauma, abuse, mental health, addiction, and healing. Blending alternative rock, pop, hip-hop, and spoken-word influences, she has developed a distinctive style she calls "Traumacore"—music that transforms painful experiences into messages of resilience and hope. Through candid lyrics and cinematic production, SkyDxddy has built a large following among listeners who see their own struggles reflected in her work.

Rather than simply telling stories of pain, SkyDxddy's music encourages conversation, connection, and recovery. Songs such as Hate Me, Triggered, and BATTLEFIELD, along with her debut album TRAUMACORE (RAW AND UNCUT), address difficult subjects including domestic violence, emotional abuse, anxiety, and self-worth with remarkable openness. Her willingness to confront these issues has made her an influential voice for many survivors and young adults, demonstrating how music can foster awareness, reduce stigma, and remind listeners that healing is possible.

If you've been through this, or know someone who has, let me know what you think. Watch. It. Here.
